Logs in and sees 100+ notices on weird and unfortunate; what's the point of even trying?

I am a very stubborn person and I DO believe in myself, but at the same time I don't. I'm afraid of making the games I want to see in the world. It's truly a hollow feeling.
It sounds like you believe in yourself, but not to some unrealistic degree that you can't bring yourself to meet.
There's nothing wrong with perfectionism and wanting your projects to be amazing, but you can't get to the point where you can't be proud of your work at all.
Brave Hero Yuusha
Thank you for the write-up, I'm glad you had a good experience overall.
Also, thank you for your input on the concerns of how the female characters were portrayed. I never really gave those particular intricacies that level of thought. I wrote all of the characters (not just the women) to be trope-y and hammy parodies of old RPG archetypes.
But I can understand how this could be seen as irksome in some regards, so this is definitely valuable feedback for how to approach my writing in future projects. Believe me: the last thing I want to be is discriminatory.

THANK YOU FOR ONE HUNDRED SUBSCRIBERS! :DDDDDDDDDDDD
I dare you to make a more beautiful game than the steam version of FF6
[RMVX ACE] The case for 'Luck'
iirc, Luck is used almost nowhere in Ace and the difference it makes in the systems its used for is fairly minimal unless you edit it.
The most interesting systems I've seen with Luck are systems that happen outside of the battle system. Lotteries, minigames, random things that can happen as you explore, etc.
One of my favorites uses was in EarthBound, where there's an item called Lucky Sandwich that has a chance to trigger a better healing effect depending on your luck stat. Nevermind I guess it's just RNG. Still a cool idea though.

Brave Hero Yuusha
I've had a couple of requests for a link to the OST, and I've included it in a quick update to the game's description.
I'm super late getting to this but thank you so much! :D :D

I just finished Brave Hero Yuusha. That was a simply amazing experience! :D The old-school feel meeting the twist of the story getting rewritten was done excellently, and you can really tell a lot of time went into the custom tilesets, sprites, and enemy battlers.
This was a real treat. Thanks very much, SgtMettool :DDDDDD

What are you thinking about? (game development edition)
author=CrazeSgtMettoolYour game starts the parody and cool stuff almost instantly. By the time the castle starts falling apart, I think it's pretty clear.
I'm starting to worry that Brave Hero Yuusha's graphical style is a little too close to Dragon Quest, the series it aims to pardoy, and am worried that it comes off as a knock-off. I worked hard to not have it be too close, but I'm hoping I did enough to make it it's own thing.

The parody is more effective because of the graphical style.

Yeah, I agree. I think it's fine as-is, and still has it's own charm with the varied color pallet.
Thank you everyone. I suppose we all need a little reassurance every now and then. :)
So, I was chipping away at a game in the same vein but I'm thinking I should wait for MV's plugin library to stabilize before I do any heavy work. I'm thinking of doing a small side project in Ace in the meantime.
